Re: can the two copper bolts on the forward reverse switch be replaced
OK I have ordered new copper studs- from a board sponsor
any suggestions on simpler removal? I thought about soaking the studs down with JB rust blaster and letting it sit for a least a couple of hours and then going real slow apply heat or not? thanks |

Re: can the two copper bolts on the forward reverse switch be replaced
A solvent is good but don't try to operate it with that stuff on it as all of those products a highly flamable in the presence of electrical spark Anyway it is all copper bolted thru fiber board.......no rust involved. Just corrosion. I suggest removing the F&R to replace the studs...

Re: can the two copper bolts on the forward reverse switch be replaced
If your studs are not completely damaged you might be able to file them down. They are solid copper, so as long as they are making good contact, current should flow. If they continue to crap up, you might have another problem. I had a broken resistor that kept fouling my speed board contacts, so it could also effect your FNR switch. Good luck. Of course disregard this post if you have a controller cart.
