1988 Club Car V-Glide or Speed Controller
Hi, I just bought a 1988 Club Car ser# S8802-136208. It has solenoids and resistors, but I am not sure if it has a V-glide or speed controller. I tried to attach a picture showing the unknown component.

Re: 1988 Club Car V-Glide or Speed Controller
if it is an 88 and has solenoids and resistors it dosn,t have a controller......that silver box is where the micro switches are located that activate the solenoids.........and the resistors dissipete heat when driving slow......................

Re: 1988 Club Car V-Glide or Speed Controller
Thanks for the reply. I am getting a delay when I accelerate. I suspect the problem is one of the micro-switches. Is it easy to take this unit apart and replace the micro-switch?

If all those micros are clicking i would suspect one bad solenoid.

Re: 1988 Club Car V-Glide or Speed Controller
i agree if all micros are clicking than i would think maybe 1st speed solenod or it may be the white plastic slider in the pot box where the micros are, you need to jack rear up and with key on and in gear slowly press pedal.......the 1st click is the master activating at the 2nd ckick the wheels should start to turn if not or if it kinda jumps instead of a nice slow wheel spin replace the 2nd solenoid from the left........also make sure all the resistor coils are ok and not broken anywhere or the coils touching ona another..................

Re: 1988 Club Car V-Glide or Speed Controller
I jacked up the rear. When I depressed the accelerator a little bit, the master solonoid picked, then when I went further the next solenoid picked, but the wheels did not go. When I depressed the accelorator furthur the next solenoid picked and the wheels started. So, it really looks like the contact points are bad in the lowest speed solenoid. I will get one tomorrow. I really appreciate the help.
