Default 2005 Rear End Help

Hey Yamaha guys. I'm going to go help a friend with his cart later today. All I know is it is a 2005 electric. He thinks he got water in the rear and wants to change the gear oil. He can't find a drain plug or vent.

What do I look for? Thanks!

Hmmm 2005 prob a G22 should just be a rubber stopper that you pull out on the rear end pan if so....but there were a few diff carts made in 2005

Thank you camaro. I didn't make it home until after dark so I have not yet looked at it. I will check it out tomorrow.

I found the plug on the bottom. Have not removed it because we don't see any way of refilling. How do you fill it?

I use a push pump I made similar to a mechanic hand soap dispenser but I have also just attached a hose to the gear oil bottle with a zip tie, inserted it in rear end at angle and squeezed it in when times were desperate...though you need two bottles and refill halfway to do that...

Thank you camaro. Through what opening do you insert the oil?

Stop! Water in it?

Take the diff cover off immediately!

Let it drain for about an hour. (Drip, drip, drip)

Put the cover back on (dont bother cleaning the silicone & doing "a nice re seal job" yet) .

315cc or a little more new oil (any oil will do at this point, just a flush),
Run on jackstands for a few minutes.

-REPEAT UNTIL OIL THAT COMES OUT ISNT "MILKY"- (could take up to 4-5 times if its nasty) this is a "save what you have left" deal, low money, cheapo motor oil from the store will do.

then clean mating surfaces of diff cover & axle housing. Re seal with silicone (just like the factory did it), add 315cc gear oil through the rubber plug (80w90), and hope damage is minimal. The CC numbers I gave are what was printed on the axle stickers of the day on that axle.

Anyone on here can say anything they want, and take my advice as you want.

The rubber stopper you pulled is the fill plug, the drain is the pan itself...As cgtech said you pull the pan to drain and fill through the stopper hole..and I would agree to make sure all the water residue is out the save gears and internals...

Thanks guys. I have not yet pulled this plug.

So y'all are saying re-fill through the plug on the bottom. I suppose what I'm trying to ask and I don't understand is what would I use to insert the gear oil vertically from the BOTTOM? Is there something threaded like the lower unit on an outboard motor? Or do you just press the tube into the opening?
