16 YDRE- voltage reducer prob?
Installing 3 post battery gauge i accidentally arched 48v wire and blew fuse for the voltage reducer. I think the power wire terminal hit the top of that 12v circuit fuse and probably put 48v onto an output circuit from the controller and now I have full battery voltage on green output wire from the reducer! i don't know the brand but it looks like a standard amazon-sold gold reducer with 2 input wires, 2 output and a control wire.
The fuses for accessories blow as soon as i turned the lights on or hit the horn. Does it make sense that the reducer is blown and allowing full battery voltage or is more likely there is a short to battery voltage somewhere? I would think blowing the reducer would mean no output voltage at all, but i couldn't find a wiring schematic for the internals of a reducer. They are cheap enough to replace if thats the case, hopefully the LED lights aren't cooked as a result |
