2009 Stealth Patriot 4 wheel drive switch question
Trying to figure out why switch not working. Here is diagram of way it’s currently wired along with picture of back of switch on dashboard. Keeps blowing switch. I’m wondering if guy who had it before has something wired wrong.

Re: 2009 Stealth Patriot 4 wheel drive switch question
Good thing you mentioned this in the Lifted Carts area, otherwise I'd have never seen this post.
But getting to your question, although mine is a 2009 as well, you'd have thought they would be wired the same. Mine is wired a bit differently. You show a red wire on your middle switch terminal going to positive. Mine is a orange wire going to the solenoid on the front gearbox. You show a red wire on your bottom terminal going to the gearbox whereas my bottom red wire goes to positive. All else is the same. Maybe switching your bottom 2 wires on your switch might help? |

Re: 2009 Stealth Patriot 4 wheel drive switch question
There was some wiring done by previous owner, I see connectors with different color wires. It also was wired to 3 batteries (18 volts). I will switch the connectors at switch and see if that helps. Thanks for responding.

Re: 2009 Stealth Patriot 4 wheel drive switch question
Look at the back of the switch for a diagram. If you have the black wire on the wrong terminal you will create a dead short when you flip the switch.
