How well does the predator 420 handle electrical accessories?
I have the predator 420 with electric start and will be running a few led light bars and possibly a small bluetooth radio occasionally. How's the output on these motors charging system?

Most factory engines like that can handle a couple lights. Sounds like you need an alternator.

The 420 Predator Hemi has a 1 amp charging coil, it's not enough to run any accessories. If you have any mechanical skills you could install 2 -- 3 amp coils and that would be enough to run what you want.

Hurling buffalo, if you look at the different charging coil options on that link I sent -the ones listed for the gx390 should fit your predator 420- note that some coils require the matching flywheel to operate correctly.

Just an idea. If I'm not running the pedal start shouldn't I be able to build mounts to use the stock generator from the cart as my alternator?

Re: How well does the predator 420 handle electrical accessories?
First let me say I just tested the electrical output of the coil while running and I get between 22 and 13.6v depending on rpm. I plan on running an optima deep cell battery so I should have plenty of storage. I think it will be fine.

Re: How well does the predator 420 handle electrical accessories?
You may want to hook it on a trickle charger when you park it if you plan on running a stereo or anything. That 1 amp is really low. On my predator 420 I used the starter generator like you mentioned just for charging and used the predator starter on the block for starting. Never had an issue. On my 460 I put in the Honda factory 18amp charge coil and flywheel. This coil puts out ac voltage so I also had to add a rectifier. I am very happy with it as it really cleaned up the wiring to the motor!
