Re: Picked up a basket case VC460
Let's talk fuel pumps. I'm still running an EZGO fuel pump.
I put in the adjustable main jet today, which is making no sense on how its behaving. Seems to be affecting the intermediate area for some reason. When I crank it out, it almost acts like its starving. I'm keeping up with Predator 420s, but I feel like I should be walking on them. Not sure what I'm missing. I'm happy with the 460 overall, but maybe its no better than the 420 hemi I just replaced. Its a TXT, 28" Super Swamper Vampires. Its a lot of meat to turn over, but still. We're literally neck and neck out of the hole and top speed is identical. I wanna go fast. (Ricky Bobby) |

Quote:
Rev the engine to about 2500 rpm and hold it there -- turn the main jet clockwise and close it -- till it wants to stall -- then turn it counter-clockwise and open it till it starts to flood -- while your doing this you have a "sweet spot in the middle where it revs right up to a high speed. This is where the main jet is properly adjusted. If it runs a little flat at high speed open 1/8 turn more. |
