Yes it works. I have my 6 - 6volts tied in to the original charger. I have a deep cell 12 volt I have in series to get 48 volts but it is charged separately. I've been expirimenting with this for a couple of weeks now and it seems do be doing great. Lots of torque and the speed is awesome. My 6 - 6's are 6 years old and I was planning on replacing them soon and I had the 12v deep cell for accessories so I said why not give it a try. So far so good. I get 51volts at the pack an hour after a charge. I have not been able to really check run time but I did get alot of trips around the neighborhood (with very steep hills) before I recharged the whole pack again.

Something Ive been thinking about. So you keep your 6 hooked up originally. how do you add in the other 12 volts(2-12's or 2-6's), without messing up the charger.

You have to add them in after the charger wires.The charger will charge the series between the wires starting at the pos on batt #1 and ending with the neg on batt #6. Just run you next cable from that neg to pos on batt#7,neg to pos #8, neg cable runs to neg (B-)on controller. Charge the last 2 or 1 (in my case) separately.

Not quite, Depending what you define "C" as, If
C= controller then you need to eliminate the cable between C- and 6-.Then run the white charger wire to 1+ and the black charger wire to 6 -. Thus charging 36 volt pack.

C = charger then you eliminate the cable between C- and 8-. Then 8- would go to the controller B- and a cable would run from 1+ to solenoid pos.

Also it's important to test all these things with your meter before you put any power to anything. Your 36 volt pack, your 12 volt pack then your 48 volt pack. When you're comfortable with it then put the juice to the 48 v HD solenoid and 48 volt controller.

Doesn't a typical 36V charger reach about 44-45V? In this case it seems that a 36V charger would work to get you about 90-95% charged.
