Bagged Hitachi project
Hey guys, this is my latest aquisition.
I really know nothing about it, except that its a Hitachi. if there are any gurus out there, let me know!! I previously built an 88 Par car, bagged with a few custom touches, and ever since selling it I've been itching to start another build. The day has finally come! Heres my Par Car build - http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/road-...a-par-car.html I picked this thing up real cheap, then sold the seats for what I paid for the cart, so it's basically free! Gave it a good blasting with the pressure washer to get rid of the years of dirt and mud. Now I can see what I'm working with. Teardown begins. There are sensor on every moving part in this thing, not to mention a bunch of ecu's under the rear floor. It has a front diff and driveshafts also, purely just for braking! I will more than likely remove this to create some more room. My last cart only had rear brakes, and I don't plan on going fast. I had to remove this.... To get it to sit like this! More soon!! |

Racing seats, puke brown, and big speakers? Strange combo. Really cool looking rig though! What I want to know is why it looks like its 4wd and is that electric power steering too? If so that is impressive. Wow looks like an alternator hiding in there too.

Its definitely ugly, but its different, and I think I can create something cool. I had to have a 4 seater anyway. Not sure whats up with the steering. It has an electric motor on that box, but it goes straight out into a rack. No clue on its purpose. Thats why I'm trying to find a wiring diagram so I know what i can get away with removing, and what has to stay. |

Re: Bagged Hitachi project
I did a little search online and couldn't find much info...one auction site had one for sale and they listed it as a model year 2005 and also as all wheel drive...very strange. Watching this thread with interest.

Yeah, its strange that theres absolutely nothing out there. I'm hoping someone at least has a wiring diagram somewhere. That would be a huge help.

Re: Bagged Hitachi project
Does that gear motor in front by the steering have a driveshaft to the front diff? Could be electric drive in front.
Check this thread might give you some ideas on what would look like what. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/big-b...-pit-cart.html |

Re: Bagged Hitachi project
Nope, no shafts or anything going to the front.
Theres a switch under the seat that releases the brakes, and when its pressed it controls both electric mechanisms on the front and rear diff. Driveshafts go to each front wheel, but I can't see anything else to suggest that the front is driven. |

Re: Bagged Hitachi project
Found some info (using translate this page option) about "auto" function using buried wires...maybe something to do with that electric motor up front..
