Looking for the best ride quality for streets
Hello,
my cart is currently lifted 6" with a mad jax kit. it doesnt ride the smoothest at all and is very bumpy on repaired streets. I am mostly just street use and camp ground use on my cart. I was wondering if there was a lift i could use that would produce a smoother ride quality and be less bumpy. Thanks in advance Justin EDIT i am converting this cart to AC and will be at speeds of 30-35 MPH on it also so i need it to be stable. |

Lift kits and stable don't go together, in fact they come with a warning about that. As far as the ride what size wheels do you have?

Re: Looking for the best ride quality for streets
What air pressure? Lower air pressure will help some with the harshness. Also, if you have added heavy duty springs to the rear it will ride very rough. If you don't carry passengers, stay with stock springs. If you do carry passengers go with dual rate springs, they aren't as plush as stock unloaded but are a lot easier than HD but also offer additional capacity when you do want to carry people around. Double a-arm lifts ride better than spindle lifts, and long travel lifts seem to ride better than double a-arm.

Re: Looking for the best ride quality for streets
Id say experiment with it and see what works for you. Start at 15psi and take a pound out, test ride after every adjustment. Bumping your tires up to 23" tall would help too, a taller sidewall sort of acts like a spring on a golf cart. Low profile tires are stiff springs, large sidewall all terrains are softer springs.

I run 8 to 10 psi and use a low pressure tire gauge.. (atv tires)
