Default Stock wheels with lift?

Happy Saturday!

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on Jake's 6" spindle lift. The wheels I want are on backorder. They say that my stock wheels won't work with the lift but I'm wondering why I wouldn't be able to run them temporarily. I get that it will look goofy, but since the kit uses the stock hub, is there a reason why it wouldn't be possible?

Thanks!

Free bump.. don't know but you might need at least 10" wheels to clear things.

BTW.. what is that?

My guess also, you will need at least 10" rims to accommodate several of the aftermarket kits.
Along with looking funny...............

Looks like a ClubCar DS with a funny front clip.

If you are planning on putting spacers on your aftermarket wheels, maybe getting them now and using them on you stock steel wheels would work till your new wheels arrive. If that is a DS, I would ask someone with one that has your lift already on it to take a few photos to identify the clearance issues.

Thanks, all!

Jake's got back with me and said it's because stock wheels are centered. ?? I'm still confused.

Good eye, JPonLKN! It's a '99 CCDS with a goofy K-car looking front end.

If its only temporary you could try some 1" spacers on the front tires. That may move them far enough away from the spindle connections for stock wheels to clear. Take those spacers off as soon as you have the correct wheels, they are extra hard on things.

I just bought a ProFormX 6" lift for my 12' CC Precedent. My directions say I must have a 12-14" wheel as well. I was wanting to run my current 10" wheel until I find a wheel/tire combo that I like. Now I'm pretty much holding off because I don't want any downtime. I wanted to go with a 14" wheel/23" tires, but after reading the forums I'm thinking of maybe a 12" wheel/ with 22-23" tires for better ride quality. Any opinions on this?
