Which cart are the early Bad Boy buggies made from?
This question has probably been asked repeatedly, but I'm very new to the cart world. As in, 2 days, so please bear with me! I bought an unknown year model buggy with 8 new 6 Volt Interstate batteries. (Basically, i bought a set of new batteries with a Bad Boy buggy wrapped around 'em!) I found the sticker inside the left dash storage compartment, but its faded and mildewed too bad to read. thanks, in advance for any information!

The original Bad Boy buggies were built at the old paper mill just outside of Natchez, ms, from 'scratch'

Yeah, I used to work in Natchez and would see trailer loads of 'em headed for delivery. I just need to know the, I assume, Easy Go model they used in the beginning. It's definitely a "classic" model. Looks like original stickers.

The BB cart is a beefed up EZGO TXT. with a BB wiring harness. That's where a lot of the problem were. Not 100% TXT

IMHO....if your going to do something with it, don't try to fix the BBB with BBB parts. Most find it's more trouble than it's worth.
If it were me, I'd do a frame up build. Put a quality Alltrax controller, new wires and cables, and forget about the front wheel drive. Install a Jakes (or other brand) of long travel front end if that's what it takes to have the front steering work. |

DaveTM,
Thanks for the advice! The only problems with the cart I've found is a weird issue with the brakes, a little slack in the steering and a small hole in one of the front cv boots. Other than that, everything works as it should. I've got a little mechanical know how, but just starting to learn about electrical carts. I went to high school with a Textron/BB dealer up in the N central part of the state, so I'm gonna take it to him, for now. It's hunting season already! |

Any updates on your buggy?? I just became a new owner of a very similar situation, minus the new batteries.....so I've got LOTS of questions. The good news is, that everything "works" as it should, a little noisy, and a little clunky, but it works. Fortunately for me, I have a semi-local EZGO dealer that used to be BBB dealer, and seems to be very familiar with their history. So, it appears the front end is not an EZGO cart model, but rather an actual Bad Boy Buggies design, which I like, but I've got 2, non-working headlights w/ rusted surrounds and was looking for replacements, but I may end up just replacing the entire front clip. Anyone know what will work, what will fit? Custom or other is ok. Thanks for any info or direction! |
