Another day, another RXV
I hate these things....
This is one of the darned Curtis models. The kind that lies. Handheld said 'Throttle Wiper' and 'Brake Wiper' fault. I knew that seemed odd that both could fail at exactly the same hour mark (634.9 hours) and suspected it was the speed sensor again as in TOW and N it would 'resist' you pushing it. Nope, wasn't the speed sensor. It was the blasted $1500 controller and customer was NOT happy to hear that. He had already tried replacing his E Brake, and a few other parts. I really wish there was relief from modern car hell... We also got one with a Kawasaki EFI engine (first one I've seen, it's NOT a Kymco) and it just turns over but no fuel injection action. No fuel pump voltage, no voltage to anything coming from the ECU/throttle assembly. Haven't the foggiest idea there. Check Engine light is dim, not bright, and stays on whether you're cranking it or the key is on. It's never the fuses, but I checked them anyway. I never understood what the damned fuses are for as they NEVER protect anything. Got plenty of fried RXV controllers and fried MORICs from Yamahas that their fuses never popped, so why are they even there? for decoration? I tell people NOT to buy these things, and everything made today is a solution in search of a problem, as they're obviously not improvements (not when it fails 4 years after manufacture!). I want to go back to Marathons, Pargos, Harley Davidsons again. Seriously with everyone being so cheap these days it makes perfect sense. |
