Default Bad solenoid or controller?

Hello all. Newby here.
I have a 2011 electric club precedent. It started shuttering when initially accelerating a couple of weeks ago but ran good once it got up to speed. Yesterday, my daughter was driving it and it quit on her. I checked all batteries and connections and all was good. Changed the MCOR and the discovered a burned up solenoid resistor. My question is, given the symptoms, could the solenoid be bad or the controller. Also, I do hear the solenoid click but it is intermittent....thank you

Usually when the resistor burns up, the controller or motor has developed a short and power is sent to the solenoid even with the solenoid open..The resistor can't handle this power and burns up...Test the motor first..Put the cart in tow...Disconnect pack pos and neg...Take the 4 cables off the motor...Double wrench the studs so they don't turn...Put your meter on continuity.. A1 to A2 beep...F1 to F2 beep...All 4 studs to case no beep... If the motor checks, the controller is your problem...

Also, can you clarify what A1, A2, F1and F2 are. I am good with troubleshooting but just becoming familiar with my golf cart

A1, A2, F1, and F2 are the electrical connections on the motor.

The main positive and negative cables...Look for a positive and negative cable not going to another battery...If you put you meter on pack pos and pack neg you will see 48+ volts...

Got continuity between f1 and f2 but none between A1 and A2. All four to the case no continuity as well. So motor is bad?

The A terminals are for the armature and the F terminals are for field so it sounds like a bad motor or brushes...Since you have the cables off you can test the motor with a 12v battery or 16v from your cart and a couple of jumpers to be sure ...Go to this page and scroll down to sepex motor test....Also good info on that site..
