Club Car intermittently stops
Hi guys,
My friend has an early 2000's club car 48 volt with push button forward/reverse. Sometimes he will be driving it and it will die. Sometimes if he waits a few minutes it will run fine again. Sometimes it will run fine all day other times it will die and he will have to wait a few minutes to go again. One other thing, sometimes afte he stops the cart with the brake, it will start creeping forward until he turns the key off. All of this happens intermittently. If I can catch it when it is happening, what do I do to test? Pack voltage is good (around 50 volts) Thanks in advance |

Re: Club Car intermittently stops
Hi guys,
I wanted to correct my earlier post. Before I posted from what my friend told me. I actually got to check the cart out in person today. I checked the pack voltage and it was right at 48 volts. I checked each battery and two of them were under 8 volts, the rest were 8.25 at a minimum. The creeping forward problem was caused from a rubber mat not letting the pedal come all the way back. The other problem with the cart not moving sometimes, only happened when he stopped the cart and started it back up. We could not make it happen in a test run today. I told him to replace the bad batteries and then we could troubleshoot from there. Thanks |

Re: Club Car intermittently stops
I had a similar experience. I had a customer that said his cart would all of a sudden not go. Then sometimes it would.
I had previously put a new solenoid and a new f/r switch in his cart. So when i started troubleshooting his cart, it was driving me crazy, because I was leaning towards a new vglide. But yesterday, i took readings on my new solenoid ( that i had installed about 3 months ago). The problem i found, was the solenoid. I found that the solenoid was pitted real bad on the inside of the big terminal contacts. I replaced it, with a new one, and it works fine now. I would definately lean towards the solenoid. |
