Default 92 club car ignition coil issues

I'm pretty sure my 92 club car needs a coil or exiter so I was going to buy the newer style coil with the built in exiter is this a direct fit and/or is there anything else I should do?

you mean coil/ignitor? older carts had exitor you should have coil rpm limitor and ignitor......why not try a weekwacker ignitor? about 20 bucks but its also possible its the rpm limitor.....on that cart coil is last thing of the 3 i would replace.....................................

I know they can be expensive but
I found a coil igniter combo from a 97+ up club car for cheap I heard that was the way to go but I dont know much about these I did cut the ground going to the rpm limiter no luck I also unplugged the wht/blk wire going to the eng no luck

to be honest i have never tried swapping the old with the new but i don,t see why it wouldn,t work with some minor re-wiring........keep in mind that newer coil/ignitor is a weak link as far as i,m concerned where as the older coils are almost bullet proof...something to think about and i,m guessing thats why the new coil/ignitor combe is much cheaper the just the old coil............................

The old style coils are around $50.00 and the igniters are about the same as for what I've found the new style ones are like $250.00+ but I've found one for $60.00 new in box I hope this fixes it for good.

I hope no one shoots me for asking, but can you change the new style (coil and Ignitor together) for coil and ignitor separated. Like on the older carts.

Thanks all

Won't work. believe me. We've tried to save money only to tear it out and change it a second time. Not worth it. I'd change the ignition module first. Had one today with weak intermitent spark and fixed it.
