I've put a new carb. new plug, and the engine cranks right up and as soon as I try to speed up the engine starts to flood. also does this in maintence mode. Any ideas? 95 Club Car

How do you determine it is flooding? as in overflow with gas?
Could be loosing spark after low RPMs?

From black smoke and the smell of gas. and spark plug is carboned up.

Can a fuel pump make it flood?

Could but not that common, do you have a overflow tube coming from the side of your carb going down to no where? It will cause this issue if it clogged.
Remove it, blow through it and if it is clogged get a intank fuel filter for a chainsaw/weedeater and stick in the end of it.

Also remove the air filter tube from the carb and test run it, could be a blockage in it or choke system.

Thanks crash

I checked the choke and air box its clear. But on this new carb seems like I remember seeing a little flashing in the over flow tube. Maybe that part on the carb is restricted. I'll check that tomorrow after work if I can find a cool place.

What would cause the spark to go away at higher rpms?

OK this time it was a bad new carb. going to see about getting another one. Screw under the bolt that holds the gas bowl on has no threads to screw to.
