Does any one have easy detailed instructions on
taking off the primary (front) clutch, my rollers are worn flat and

There is not much to them. Look your cart up here and see how it goes together they have drawings for most. Puller is a rod that goes in and pushes on the crank.

I removed the center 22mm bolt, was told no clutch puller is needed
how does one get the center out to get to the rollers
off to replace them

Sometimes the clutch will fall off, depending if you have had it off before but in most cases you will need a puller to get the primary clutch off. The three fingered spider that holds the rollers unscrews off counter clockwise (normal). You will need to hold the clutch in a vise to unscrew the spider as the spider is red locktited in place. There is a special tool that grabs the spider equally to turn it off but I am sure some can be improvised to do the same job.

You could conceivably remove the spider without taking off the clutch if you could hold the fixed sheave firm enough to twist off the spider. Good luck with that one. I have to clamp the fixed sheave in a vise extremely tight to be able twist off the spider and the only way to do that is to remove the clutch.
