Re: 2012 club car fuse blowing
If it seems to run fine that way, tape the wire ends off and leave them disconnected.
The kill circuit will not work exactly the same since it's supposed to kill the engine when you turn the key off. With the wht/blk disconnected you may be able to turn the key off while driving and the engine will still run. Until you take your foot off the pedal. I've never been entirely sure of the purpose of the white wire from the FnR limit switch to the key switch. It's connected to the Kill circuit at the key switch so I've always figured it must be so the engine kills if you shift the FnR to N while you have your foot on the pedal. Seems like overkill for that, but I'm sure CC designers had some safety reason for it. You could probably just connect that direct to chassis ground and still have everything work properly. |

Re: 2012 club car fuse blowing
I taped off the white wires, and the black wires, and buttoned everything up. The cart started and ran good, it wouldn't shut off when the pedal is released, so I was looking it over to figure out how I could setup a kill wire. I turned key on and the damned fuse blew. I hadn't done anything else to it, it just running. Very frustrating

Re: 2012 club car fuse blowing
Just push it off a cliff and claim insurance on it.
Just kidding, mostly... I feel your frustration believe me. Being an auto mechanic I’ve had more than my share of these kinds of gremlins and they just make you wanna Have you tried an OEM Club Car ignition switch? To me that sounds like the only common theme at this point. Unless there’s some other accessory on the cart that is hidden, or was partly removed but the wires are still there tapped off of the key switch wiring where it’s not obvious, I just don’t see what else it could be other than the key switch. |

Re: 2012 club car fuse blowing
I like your first suggestion, lol. I keep coming back to the switch too. This is the 3rd switch, all aftermarket. Time t roll it into storage and order an OEM switch. Thanks again for ALL your help!
