Buy quality batteries and maintain them and you'll get years of good service. My first set lasted nine years to the month. I didn't go cheap when I bought replacements, and hope to get many years out of them. At $100 each for good batteries, you should easily be at less than $100/yr.

I have figured you can run the best batteries for about $.050 a day... and that's only getting 4-5 years out of them like most people do. Go farther and the cost drops.

I paid $105 each for eight T-105s, so I figure if I get eight years out of them, that's $105/yr, or $0.2875 per day, accounting for leap years.

Battery prices seem to vary a lot regionally, and most folks just have six.

Not if you have 8 volt batteries.

What if I add (2) 6 volt in with 3 8volt to make 36v? How will that work?

So you're gonna buy five batteries instead of six? Why not just buy six?
