kevincan, Welcome to BGW!
No, you cannot use the "chip" on your cart. Chips are only used on PDS style carts from 2000 and newer. |

Re: 1995 Elec EZGO
Increase the voltage to the stock motor
Higher RPM motor Larger diameter tires High speed gears in the differential What is your plan for the cart? How will it be used? |

Re: 1995 Elec EZGO
Currently it is a 36 V cart run on 3-12 v batteries. I am using it to run around the neighborhood. I dont want to spend a ton. going up SLIGHT inclines it is very slow. i have been repainting the cart and recently put lights on it.

Re: 1995 Elec EZGO
In order to get speed and hill climbing torque you MUST start with a proper set of batteries. Your current setup is not gonna work for ANY upgrades.

Re: 1995 Elec EZGO
The guy i got the cart from just put the 3-12V batteries on the cart. It works great but i want more speed on flats and hills. Will replacing the batteries with 6-6 volts help that much? Seems like it would be the same.

Re: 1995 Elec EZGO
Three 12v batteries will give 36 volts but, the cart consumes amperage not voltage.
The amps are stored on the lead plates in the batteries & you have less than 50% of the required amperage storage capacity with the 3/12s set up. Results may vary if you have 12v golf cart batteries? What make and type do you have? |

Re: 1995 Elec EZGO
A 95 series cart is slow and steady. Anything short of 48v and a bigger controller is not going to give you the noticeably quicker hill climbing ability you want in my opinion. This is what you would need to do:
In a series cart, up the voltage to 48v Up size the cables (#4 or 2) increase controller size (400-500 amp) Upgrade the F&R switch Put as big a tire as you like on it This will get you 18-23 mph depending upon tire size |
