Default Question about wires,motor

Hey Y'all, first post.I recently bought a 2001 PDS (first cart). Before the week was out I lifted it 5 "s with 22x11x8 tires. Then I found this forum and saw where 4 ga wires were recommended.I bought a set on Ebay and when i went to install them the wires on my cart batteries were twice the diameter of the new ones. The wires going to the controller were about half the size of the new ones however. It also had a yellow chip installed. I put on the new wires anyway.Could the old wires be 2ga ? The wires going the motor were the same size as the new 4ga.
Later three of us big guys where in the woods when the cart stopped pulling. Two got off and the cart made it back to the dirt road with no more problems. The wires were warm but not really hot. I guess I need a new controller and maybe a motor? I plan on doing more off roading than on. Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated.
By the way, this is an AWSOME sight.

Thanks, Big John

Sounds to me like you overloaded the cart. You have to realize they were only made for 2 passengers and 2 golf bags.

Not yet. I don't know weather to get an alltrax 400 or 500 amp.If I get a bigger motor the 500 should be better? I just don`t know what to do.

The 400 amp AllTrax is all you need, plus the HD solenoid...

Transfers the power from the batteries to the controller.
