Default More power

How do you guys upgrade your SEPEX carts for more power? There seems to be limited controllers for the Regen 2 Club Cars. My cart has a bad controller and I was going to use this as an excuse to upgrade.

I found a new Alltrax 300 amp programmable controller with regen for $278. Is this a good deal and how much performance difference will I notice over the stock 220 amp controller? Is this a good controller?

What does the programmable feature allow you to do?

Thanks

Just from what I have read.....Programable controllers are just that. With the enabling software, you can set limits and ramp up speeds. Sometimes the software is expensive. Why not just buy a non programable controller that is set up to do what you want - for less! 300 amps is not alot for 36 or 48 volt system.
Look at the Logisystem controllers for a better buy.

Hot rodders prefer the series carts. But it depends on what you have and what you want to do ? If you lay that out for the guys here...they will set you staight!

I'm looking for more torque than stock to help with the large tires and rear seat. Who sells the Logisystems controllers? I saw a few on ebay, 700 amp for $325 but it's a series. Do you know if they make one for regen 2?

Im thinking about converting my cart to series. I'll be upgrading my car soon so I can use its 300 amp curtis controller and f/r switch. Is there anything else that has to be changed like the solenoid and motor?

Would a 36 volt motor out of a v glide cart work with a series controller? Is this going to make the performance worse than stock?

Sorry for all the questions I'm still a newbie at this. Thanks!!

"Would a 36 volt motor out of a v glide cart work with a series controller? "
Yes. The 36v series motor run on 48v with controller is the biggest bang for the buck upgrade. Is your 300 amp controller rated for 48 volts? 300 is not a lot of amps. I bought a 480 Logisystems for my 48v CC. The V-glide itself is not going to work unless you buy the resistor set for a v-glide conversion. ($100) Looks like a pb-6 is a better speed control for about the same money. Recoup $ by selling the v-glide.
You will see about a 30% increase in both speed and torque
48v 480 amp $275
pb-6 speed control $100
good 48v solenoid $40
CC F/R switch
4 gauge cables
six 8v batteries or
eight 6v batteries
And a way to charge the extra batteries
