Default Which Steering Rack Do I Need?

I just got a new EZGO 3 wheeler (Model Number: XI-835-S) And I am trying to figure out what year it is so I can get a new steering rack. I am guessing it is a 1997 by the manufacturing code "M1397" ... (Correct me if I am wrong). So I took out the Steering Rack in it right now, and it is definatly strip out (Explains why it wont turn). So, I need a new one.

I went on Ezgo's website and found this: http://www.shopezgo.com/products/Steering-Rack.html

Which claims to be the right one (It says: Used on Medalist and TXT vehicles from 1994-2000).

I don't know if they just use the wrong pictures or what but the one in mine does NOT have slanted teeth like this one does, The one in mine has groves like this http://www.shopezgo.com/products/Ste...y-for-TXT.html

What part do I need.. AHH!

The three wheeler were out before '97. The manufacturers code doesn't have the year encoded that long ago. Let me look a little and get back with you in a minute. It may be '83...

And I am starting to think you are right and that it is earlier then a 97, because all of the 70-94 steering rebuild kits look like they come with the right rack..

Definately NOT a 1997! Yours is likely a 70's model. I'm thinking we ordered one for a three wheeler a few weeks ago on our other parts site...

We are getting closer M2584 is an 84 man code. That means that is sometime before that. I think I found it. Let me post a picture of a picture. I think the steering was the same as this year...
Do those parts look familiar??

YES!!! Awesome Tonyton! Those parts are all parts on mine. The Rack in those pictures is the same as the one I need.

Where did you find this?
And where did you get the M2584 Code?

Thanks so much for this.
