91' 36V upgrade to 48V
With the good ole v-glide and resistors style of go control, when upgrading to 48V, does the v-glide controller have to be replaced? Obviously the batt's, solenoid and cables.
Thanks for the help. |

Re: 91' 36V upgrade to 48V
Yep, you can rig them to work with little more than a set of 8 volts but, not without operational hazards. If you are interested in doing a complete trouble free 36 to 48v conversion then you are going to need to install a new throttle pot and controller as well as a solenoid and cables.....

Cool. Got it. I saw the pic's from the other thread. Don't want that happening!
Do I just look for a 48V v-glide controller or does that even exist? |

Re: 91' 36V upgrade to 48V
There is a v-glide compatable with controllers...and there is a resistor kit to convert any V-glide to work with a 5K-0 controller.

Thanks, scottyb.
I will look for both and try to determine what direction I would prefer. Do you have a preference with regard to ease of installation and performance? |

[quote=gsf35099;130091]Thanks, scottyb.

The PB-6 potentiometer will give you fluid drive acceleration but you will have to fab up a little mount and linkage for it..... |
