What anchor to use?
Very off forum topic here, but I have question for the builders/carpenters out there. I'm mounting something about 20lbs or so on the outside of my Rv. It has a fiberglass shell and finding a stud may not be an option. I need a hollow wall anchor that will hold to slight abuse. I don't think a butterfly or drywall anchor will work very well. Any other ideas out there? Thanks in advance.

If it was a boat you could use a danforth.

let us know what you decide to use. I am curious as to what will work giving the campers flimsy outer shell

Where on the camper wall are you mounting something. I'd say a backing plate too, but if you are towards the bottom edge for something like a lower canopy rail mount, I came off the frame with channel and a peice of plate at the end.

Re: What anchor to use?
A backing plate is a great idea, I had not thought of that! It would not be that obtrusive either, that wall backs up to the bedroom. Thanks.
