Default Charging problem???

I have a 2006 Precedent. This week when I took it off the charger the volt meter on the cart only showed it being 3/4 charged. I drove it around my 1500 acre lease and it seemed to do ok. I hooked it back up to the charger when I got home and listened for it to come on as usual and it did. The next day when I took off the charger to ride to my lake the meter on the buggie wa still showinh 1/2 charged. Do you guys think this is a battery, charger or just a faulty volt meter issue? Thanks for any help as this is my first cart and I have not had but a few months.

At this point there is no reason to guess whats going on. You need to get yourself either a digital meter ( Harbor Freight $4-$10 ) and check voltage of each battery and then total pack voltage, or a hydrometer ( auto parts store $5-$10 NOTE Get single float unit with temperature correcting scale NOT MULTI FLOAT ANTIFREEZE UNITS ) and test each cell for condition. Both tests need to be performed after charging and AFTER letting batterys sit for at least one hour. Then refer to "State of Charge Readings" in Stickies above. This will tell you whether batterys, charger, or meter is problem.

1st thing to do is get a voltage meter and check voltage of each battery, also check and if needed clean and tighten each cable end........dirty loose ends will effect the charge.........................................

Bought a hydrometer and checked each ceel. Only two showed less than 100% charged. I unplugged my volt meter and plugged it back up and that seemed to work. I was told to try that because it would reset it.

The 2 cells that had below 100% readings, what did they read as it could show bad cells? AS my previous post they could be causing whole pack to over charge causing acid blowing out?
