Default tire question

I would like to know if I can put back tires the size of 19x7-8 on my stock 2008txt ezgo golf cart. It is stock and a 36 volt cart. The tires are directional and for mostly off road use.

I would think so. If worse comes to worst, you can trim the wheel openings on the rear fenders a bit.

You could also use/make slightly longer shackles on the rear leaf springs to achieve a small amount of lift, if necessary.

thanks for the info. i really donot want to lift the cart. the original tire size is 18x8.50-8. i have measured the distiance of clearance i have with orignal tires and i have about 3 inches of clearance from the fender and body. so i should be able to use the 19x7-8 without a lift. will the tire size have any effect on speed and torque?

Larger diameter tires, with no other changes will give you less torque, (slower going up a hill) longer to obtain top speed, but your top speed will be a little faster. If you have a programable controller you can adjust it so your torque increases at the sacrifice of top speed.
