Regular Valves Vs. MCI valves
Hey everyone, i have another question to ask for those who can shed some light
Whats the difference between the regular non MCI valves and the newer MCI valves. The the valve larger? smaller? different rod size? different hardening? I dont have one of each in front of me right now so i thought i would ask incase someone here knew or could compare. Thanks! |

Re: Regular Valves Vs. MCI valves
I had a head off of one and didn't take pictures.....The valves don't appear any different, but don't share the old part number. So something is different. The valve guide and seals are all the same, so the diameter has not changed. There wasn't a real noticable difference in the sizes. They may be longer or shorter.

Re: Regular Valves Vs. MCI valves
If you mean the retainers, i initaly thought the same thing, however its the same retainers and retainer inserts used for both the regular and MCI. Only the early motors 91-94 i believe used the once peice retainer.
Then i thought the valve was possibly a different length, but they still use the same springs, unless the spring seat in the head is a different height. |
