Default Still trouble after adjusting the valves

I have adjusted the valve It putters a little but it does not get up and go. It almost feels like it has brakes on. I adjusted the brakes and it is not tight at all. What is going on. I was told that the new gas additive in the gas is mess up seals. I am rebuilding my card on my lawn mower and the carb on this Cart is only about 3 months old and just about 5 full tanks of gas throught is. I have even changed the gas filter.

If you are refering to the Ethenol added to gasoline? Modern seals are resistant... so your new carb is not effected by it..... It is at a higher % in our Cal. gas the rest of the country and we are only having trouble with pre 90s stuff .... hope this helps

Ok, so not to be a smart butt or nuthing. It does run a little, right..... You adjusted the valves. Did that help at all ???? Ok basic things. Air,Fuel, Compression, Spark. If it has these things and still not running right. Then you have to think about enough fuel and enough air. Plugs are good? Chances are the timing didn't just change. I would look to fuel. Hope this helps.

No I have not checked the compression. It helped a little when I changed the valves. When the cart is in neutral it run good but understrain of the weight of the cart and me the drivers it does not want to go. It is almost like the belt does not grab and the engine just is sluggish. So how do I check compressions. also this cart was a 2004 and is lifted

most auto parts stores will rent the tester, easy to test! pull the plugs and screw or push the tester in the hole and turn the engine over for 4 or 5 times and check the gauge.
it sounds like a compression problem from here

I will do that tomorrow. I also pulled the plugs and they do not look good to me. I am going to get some new plugs tomorrow. When I do the compression test what should it register on the guage. If it is the compression what do I have to do then.

140 to 160 is good operating psi, if the compression is low the engine will need to be rebuilt. or at least new rings and gaskets

the manual can be found in the tech section under gas ezgo. in it it details exactly how to properly test compression.

Like PM said " compression is good to know ". If the plugs are bad, the engine will be affected when it's under load.
