Default Par Car controller replacement

Hi there, I am new to the group as well as to golf cart ownership.

I purchased a 2001 Columbia par car and need some advice.

It needs a new controller and from what I have read, I do not want to replace it with the stock controller, is this correct? My question is what controller should I be looking for? Is there an aftermarket one that does not cost $1,000? Also, it looks like this cart had a motor replacement and can now take up to 48v, what controller would be best for that upgrade?

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Assuming it wasnt upgraded to regen motor an Alltrax or Navitas are good “generic” controllers.

The motor was replaced with a Motor - 170-501-0001B Replacement Motor
D&D Part # - 170-505-0001

I went ahead and bought a new Sevcon Millipak 633T45319 and got the cart moving. But now it only goes about 6 MPH, and frequently haults to a stop.

I replaced the microswitch thinking this could cause this issue and it did not resolve it.

I am now thinking about replacing the accelerator assembly, but the one that is on the cart i found it is from a forklift, so i dont know what to order! From what i have seen the factory one does not look like the one that is on the cart now.

Does anyone have any ideas what i can do next? and possibly what acceraltor is required?
