Default 93 medalist 4 -stroke drive clutch

What would cause the primary clutch (shiv) surface to wear uneven or wavy? On a 4 stroke medalist.

How old is the clutch? They all wear. Over time the surface will thin out. I've seen clutches with sheave faces so thin you could poke a screwdriver through it. If it has reached it's service life, you might have to replace it with a new one.

It's the original clutch from 1993, I replaced it with a good used one but I was just curious what would cause the uneven surface.

Found the problem, it was in the driven clutch, the buttons (shoes) were so warm that it was riding on the screws and gouged the heck out of the helix. Looks like it's time for a secondary clutch as well. Are these ebay aftermarket clutches any good, the price is right but if they dont perform I may look for a used OEM clutch.

Personally I would not buy an aftermarket driven clutch. You can replace the center part along with new ramp buttons and even get the 28 degree if you cart is lifted. They are easy to rebuild if yours is not worn where your belt runs too bad.
The 28 degree will make the cart pull hills better. That is what they put on the workhorse. I did all mine but again make sure yours is not worn where the belt runs. You can feel it with your hand if worn.

My Shivs are fine, the only problem I have is one of bolts for a botton broke, if I can get that out I think I'll try a new helix 28 degree, my cart is lifted and i pull a lot of boat trailers with it. Any site sponsors sell the helix?
