Carryall 272 Grinding into Gear When Warm
Hi, Acquired a 2006 Club Car Carryall 272. Seems, when it's cold, it shifts into forward and reverse with no problem. But, when it gets warm, it is grinding into gear, more so into forward, a bit less grinding into reverse but still grinds. I can turn the unit off, shift into gear and turn on again and we're good to go, but that is not optimum obviously. Any ideas what could be causing this and/or how to fix it?

Re: Carryall 272 Grinding into Gear When Warm
It could be idling too high, or the primary clutch is sticking closed and dragging the belt.
Given the age, I would remove the clutch and inspect the slides and the weights inside. It's probably about due for a rebuild. If the sheaves of the clutch are wavy or grooved, then it's usually better to just replace the clutch. |
