I used a brand new cutting wheel on my dremel tool, worked great. If you cut slow you won't even have any burrs. I installed the end with two blocks of wood and a hammer, super easy. The ones I used were the Chromoly ones.

You need to make sure your length is very accurate AND however you cut the push rod that it is cut dead square straight across @ 90 degrees. There was a video of them being cut on something like a lathe on VC's site. Some youtube videos on cutting VW push rods to length. Funny story on push rod lengths. Mine are exactly 6.700 , Shepard's 6.995 and VC's 6.740. But between milled heads and different head gaskets there is about .090" from the thinest head gasket and a head milled .075"
