I'm anxious to hear what you learn.

Made calculation of motor RPM to speed for the cart I have on order. It is a lifted 4+2 cart with 23" Dia. tires with 16 :1 gear which equates to about 4.3 MPH/1000 RPM. To achieve 35MPH will require 8200 RPM. The standard gear for most other carts is about 12:1 and different tire dia. will require different RPM to achieve the same speed. Below is a link to a spreadsheet that will allow entering tire dia. and gear ratio then do the math for you.

Can anyone tell me what line 46 does? It’s called Max FWD Speed (Low Speed) and was also wondering what number have some have you tried for your best setting in this location? Thanks in advance!

Low speed isn’t enabled unless you add a pin to the controller harness and wire it to a toggle or key.

There may be a related unused 4 pin connector behind the dash. Wiring diagram labels this connector as speed switch. One of these pins goes to #(2) pin labeled "Not Used" on the controller plug.

Please provide more detail/instruction as to how to hook up a switch.

100% the wire is just not hooked up inside the controller. There are 2 or 3 threads now that I've linked the same posts. Wiring to a switch I think is just a matter of grounding pin #2, but not sure.

You need to add a wire if you want low speed switch.

Just wanna say thanks to ATrain for doing the hard work! I followed your instructions and built my own cable and my canbus showed up today. Plugged it in and it all loaded perfectly. My min was set to 5500 w’ max being 7000. I set to max, saved it and went for a spin. My cart hit 38mph on the straight flat portion of the rd and dropped to 35 on on small inclines. Super happy with this! Thanks again! 2021 Icon I40L
