Re: Steelsoldiers’ 1969 Harley Utilicar Resto Project
I have a new-in-the-package H-D windshield #57992-66 that I think is for a Utilicar. If you can verify the part #, I would like to sell it - if it is not a Utilicar part #, I'd like to know what it is for. Thanks!

I checked the parts manual that I have for the Utilicar and that part number does not appear to be correct. See attached.

Re: Steelsoldiers’ 1969 Harley Utilicar Resto Project
We have been using our Utilicar almost daily to haul people, construction supplies, and tools to our property where we are restoring a big brick colonial home and all of its grounds. I’m happy to report that the Harley has been 99% trouble free in its service! The only time it gave us a moment of trouble is when the power wire between the ignition switch and the accelerator micro-switch fell out of a loosely crimped ring terminal. So, mechanically, it has been excellent. Cosmetically, it still needs restoration, but that will have to wait until the house is done. The wooden stake-sides and tailgate may have to be rebuilt sooner than later because the rot has really weakened them. They are currently held together with bungee cords and ratchet straps, so that may be a project for an upcoming rainy day!
Here’s our YouTube channel for the house restoration project if any of y’all are interested: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCT4...AWztixPJXXOzaQ |

Re: Steelsoldiers’ 1969 Harley Utilicar Resto Project
How's this coming? I'm sure, like most of us, that the whole Covid thing has made a mess of life and activities. I just acquired a '68 and will soon begin the assembly... the thing is a complete basket case.
Mine seems to have only the one disk brake at the diff, were those crum brakes at the wheel an option or something new starting w/ the '69 model? |

Re: Steelsoldiers’ 1969 Harley Utilicar Resto Project
Had fun putting the Utilicar to work last weekend. We are in the process of moving all of my stuff from our attached garage to our new carriage house. The cart came in handy for moving boxes of parts and tools from one to the other! If you’re wondering about the exhaust note, I blew out the exhaust gasket last year and haven’t had a moment to change it.
