Alltrax controller
So I am looking to buy a new Alltrax controller for my 99 ez-go ,I have been told the 400 amp would pretty much do anything I need .They say these are programmable ,is this a pain in the but to program or pretty easy ? The model I was looking at is the DCX400 regen programmable ,is this the correct one for the 99 TXT ?

Re: Alltrax controller
You need a $45 cable and a laptop PC .... Unless you want to try to do wheelies there is no need for a programable controller in my opinion.

Re: Alltrax controller
So if I don't need the programmable one ,which it doesn't sound like I want , just a liitle extra speed would be nice .I did put a larger motor in a couple of years ago and I want to make sure that won't be hard on the new controller I get .Could you suggest a part number for me Scott ,Cartzone seems to have quite a few so I will order one from them .

Re: Alltrax controller
I would recommend the heavy duty GE controller because of the motor upgrade.
It is 500 amp with thermal protection .... You will need to upgrade to 4 ga. cables to get the full power. This controller will work with a 48v upgrade if you want to do so later on and the price is right. New for Ezgo golf carts GE® Speed Controllers 36- 48 volt 500 / 600 Amps Heavy Duty Speed Controller Tough and Rough these speed controllers power you cart and larger motors with out stopping. Thermal Protection, to handle the off road paths, and works great in hunting buggies. Can all so be used for more torque for cars with backseats, cargo beds or hilly terrain. Needs to be used with 4 gauge cables. 500 amp output but can peak up to 600 amps when you need the extra power. Works on 36 volt or 48 volt carts. Full 12 month warranty. We sale lots of these controllers and they speak for there self they work great. |

Re: Alltrax controller
So I guess what I am asking is I would like to put the controller in that has the least amount of work to it and extra parts that need to be updated .I know I have to upgrade the cables to 4 gauge and I am hoping that is it with say a 400 or 500 amp unit .
