Disc brakes?
Any idea on how I could put some disc brakes off of a car on a golf cart?

Re: Disc brakes?
It would have to be a very small car with the same golf cart bolt pattern or you will require wheel adapters that may not even exist.
Why not buy a golf cart disc brake kit? |

Re: Disc brakes?
By the time you spend all the money and time you will spend to fabricate that swap and all the brackets and parts you will need you will have spent more than I did on a 4 wheel disk brake kit, which uses Wilwood components and all braided lines with 11" rotors. Unless your deadset on being original it just isn't worth the effort.

Re: Disc brakes?
Early 4 bolt Miata Discs fit. I am using a set of rears. I had to enlarge the bolt holes in the disc because the EZGO's are larger. I then got calipers from Hyundai in the junkyard. Built some brackets. Bought a "pull master cylinder" (AP Racing) from a Nascar seller on EBAY.
Just in case someone wanted to know. |

Re: Disc brakes?
Does your cart have hydraulic drum rears?

Re: Disc brakes?
If that was to me. No my car did not have hydraulics prior.
I will have to measure the diameter. I did have to cut them down in diameter due to my machining the brackets incorrectly. Rather than redraw it in CAD and remachine it was easier to cut down. No loss of braking as it was a minor change. I did have to open up the inside of the "hat". It wouldnt clear the hub or wheel mounting flange. I did use the axle hub for an Ausco disc brake. It appears to be the same hub for an RXV but I would verify that first. Btw I do have a lathe, which makes this a bit easier. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Re: Disc brakes?
I know this thread is a little ole but.... I used a Jakes hydraulic for the front. I ended up using a wilwood dual outlet master cylinder. Had braided line made from pegasus racing I believe. For the rear I used a caliper kit from Stealth 4x4 ( he is on the forum but seems to not be very responsive as of late) The calipers are Ausco 35 single piston. Imtimidator utv uses the same calipers and pads on the rear. For the caliper bracket I can make you a template if you like. I have the heavy duty hubs and brake rotors from a rear mechanical kit I bought from carts unlimited ( great sponsor on here). I ended up fabricating slide plates for the master cylinder push rod to get a good strong pedal feel. Although it works awesome and is something not very many people have it was a lot of work.
