Upgraded Motor Question
Hey guys, '07 Precedent with 400 amp alltrax
This is a question I can't seem to get an answer to. Will I see any benefits from an upgraded motor with this alltrax controller? I'm running the stock GE motor right now and wondering if a torque motor or high speed motor is worth it. really just trying to maintain a bit more speed on some of the steep hills in our neighborhood. 60AH Allied Lithium, 6" lift, 23" tires |

Re: Upgraded Motor Question
Absolutely. You can program the Alltrax to your likening... I’d rather the 500 amp for an aftermarket motor, but no doubt you can gain speed and torque with an aftermarket motor

I'm feeding all 400a to the stock motor so not sure how much I could gain since what I've seen is the upgraded motors seem to just tout higher hp...which for gas doesn't necessarily mean more torque depending on a bunch of variables (primarily rpms) |

Re: Upgraded Motor Question
One of my personal carts has a FSIP Speed motor with a 500 amp Alltrax with 2 gauge cables. I built a cart for a friend with the same motor, 400 amp Alltrax, and 4 gauge cables. I'm about 32MPH on flat ground, and he's only slightly slower. I'm sure I would be much better than him on hills, but the 400 amp is still impressive.

Re: Upgraded Motor Question
I have the stock motor with the Alltrax 500. I can hit 28 by myself in the cart on flat ground. 26-27 with the wife and kids. I'm going to have EMP build me a motor next month. Custom to my specs and less expensive than most on the market.

Re: Upgraded Motor Question
According to Robbie at Plum Quick the GE motors are only good up to 400a.
My Bandit will pull a mild hill at 25mph and 26-27 flat, but my final drive ratio is the same as stock gears, 12.0:1, and 22" tires. Your 23" tires are going to lose torque a little. |
