Default 3 cushman 1 ezgo. Need help with value

Have a deal in the works to get 4 carts. What's everyone's thought on price? first cart has all batterys. 2nd cart looks to have no batterys, but mint shape.20200520_134505.jpg20200520_134512.jpg20200520_134611.jpg20200520_134556.jpg

It can be difficult to determine the value of these well used industrial carts ... they are often "rode very hard and put away wet" and are often parked in the back 40 when they are no longer usable or when it costs too much to fix them.

I would start your evaluation assuming that the batteries in all the carts will need to be replaced. And battery chargers may also need to be replaced if missing or updated with modern chargers.

You might also want to "assume" that there would be a certain "other repair cost component" for each cart for electronic and other mechanical repairs and replacements. I could see that it might take a minimum of $1500 to $3000 to put one of these carts into service (including batteries and charger).

So getting one running, what would the cart then be worth?

I had a quick look online and saw a 2012 Cushman Titan 410 sold at on online auction for $1715 in March 2020. Note that this was a running cart ... but it looks like it was also rode hard.
See: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-Cushma...p2047675.l2557

There are also a number of Cushman Titans currently listed on Equipment Trader ... but they are newer carts too, cut also look to be run hard but are have much higher asking prices than the 2012 Cushman mentioned above.
See: https://www.equipmenttrader.com/Cush...modelkeyword=1

The Cushman industrial cart on the pallet rack shelf certainly looks shiny and may be worth some more detailed consideration. But I am guessing that it too was parked for a reason ... $1500 for batteries and charger ... plus the unknown repairs.

I would consider the other industrial carts would at best be "parts carts" or perhaps "restoration projects" and would value them accordingly. You might be able take the 3 industrial carts and get one running cart out of the deal (if you are lucky) but it would still cost you new batteries and likely a charger.

It depends too on what your plans are for the cart ... fix and flip to make a profit ... or fix it up and use it yourself. You have to be careful in the fix and flip case so that you can make a profit. When fixing up for yourself, you might be willing to spend more on the fixing up part.

I can't comment on the value of the EZGO.

I also attached a copy of a Cushman Titan Maintenance Manul for your reference. Likely not for your model but it might be worth reviewing.

The two yellow ones are Titans. The first one is likely 48V (swing out battery doors) and the second 36V. They were sold under the Cushman and EZGO name. They are still available new. They have a 3000 pound useful load so the ride is quite stiff. They have narrow tires and are meant to be used in warehouses or on smooth surfaces. Its not a cart to cruise around the grass in. The Orange one is NOT a Cushman or EZGO. It may be a Taylor Dunn but I haven't looked into it.

I was given these two. I'm restoring the Yellow one to use around an airport and for charity events. I wish is was the 4 seater like the one pictured but that's OK. If I was given the one above from Ohio, It would be a tough decision if its worth the $1000 to ship it to AZ.

The white one has descent batteries in it so it will probably get sold to fund parts for the yellow one. Yellow one needs batteries, a controller, and the front end replaced. I see the yellow one will probably be upside down on value but I just want it so I don't care. Like the OP said, its tough to try to flip them, especially these that are not really good everyday drivers. They have a special mission.

Price? It depends on what you want to do with them. If the second yellow one was local, I would spend $500-800 without batteries depending on actual condition, maybe more, because I want it for a special project. The others are only worth a few hundred dollars each. I see them advertised locally (Phoenix) for that all the time and the ads often sit for months. I have a friend that is a scrap metal dealer and he always has Golf Cars in his yard that were sold for scrap. Like ThreeCW says, batteries and charger will cost $1500. Assume the controller is bad too (people expect batteries to be consumable) so you are in it for $2000 in parts with no labor. Running Titans are probably only worth $3000-4000, if you can find a buyer.

first Cushman. 48 volt sepex system. battery's are dated 2-13, and took 3 gallons of water. was told that the carts hadn't been in service for 4 years. put chargers on battery's and after 4 days they are sitting at 49 volts. cart wont go f/r (probably not enough volts)but horn, lights, and onboard charger work.20200702_152118.jpg20200702_152132.jpg20200702_152135.jpg20200702_152143.jpg20200702_152218.jpg

legend cart. 36v series drive. battery tray looks like it takes 12 6volt. only came with 6 of which 4 look 2gallons of water and 2 have split cases and wont hold water. racoons had there way with this one. driver seat is trash and electric wiring will need gone through. from what I can find. company started making these in 1996 and was bought out in 1999 by Columbia par car. so parts like the seat are not going to exist. 20200702_152208.jpg20200702_152259.jpg20200702_152308.jpg20200702_152329.jpg20200716_110401.jpg

Thanks for the update on your purchase

It looks like you should be able to get a cart or two operational for the price of some batteries.

And put them to good use too shuffling plants at your nursery.
