Re: WestyHo build
Thanks, Andy!!
I got the dreaded never good enough, bug ... but its a fun project! I've added a lot of weight to it. Sure hope I can get back up to around 55mph. I tightened up the steering but want to add some sort of steering stabilizer to it. |

Re: WestyHo build
Working on the hood frame, hood, front and center core supports. Raised the front center of the hood 1/2". Not hinged yet, just laying on there.

Re: WestyHo build
Only tools I have are, a welder, 36" Harbor freight sheet metal bender and hand tools. Not a pro shop by any means. I would love to build one of those High dollars cars, like on TV, but this'll be good enough for me.

A real craftsman doesn't need a lot of fancy tools/machines. You do fine work, it's lookin good!!

Re: WestyHo build
That's gonna be awesome! I always thought those had a "mid 60s ford" look, and you are finishing that look!

Re: WestyHo build
Thanks cgtech!
I initially was gonna go for a 66 Fury front grill but after looking at the grills on several different mid 60s cars with stacked headlights and getting other opinions, I've decided on the 66 Comet look. I'm not trying to make an exact copy but something along those lines. I'm still debating on making the hood scoops like the cyclone or not. |
