Re: Vc 460
I ordered and received a couple of the Autolite AR 3910X spark plugs to try in my generators. I have no idea what effect this will have. But of course I will report the results. Stay tuned

Re: Vc 460
Part 1 done. My dual fuel Duromax 4850 ran fine with the Autolite plug. The 12000 watt dual fuel unit won't be here until later this month ( I hope ) . The first one the order was cancelled with the dreaded out of stock message.

I got my bracket done my gas pedal actually works now lol. I have to button everything up and mount the plate somewhere yet. Felt nice to talk to the welder again lol.

Re: Vc 460
You have a LOT of patience. I would be jumping out of my skin wanting to ride that cart with the redone carb. Probably one of the reasons my cycle carbs are being shelf tested I put some time in getting the linkage right with the VM 34 on Suzi

I would think the AR3910X plug be a great for propane. Works so well with gasoline I wouldn't expect a bad report using propane or natural gas. |

Re: Vc 460
I'm working on it today but its getting really hot out. Not finding an easy place to mount that plate yet. I moved all the junk off it at least lol, its been sitting there so long collecting boxes on it. My bad.
As a side note I really don't like how this linkage works, I really think a rod or different heavy cable from the pedal would be better. It would need to be stick proof of course. I'll know more when I get it running around. |

Re: Vc 460
Yeah it was hot but tolerable with breaks lol. So got it mounted under my airbox. Oil looked too full but didn't smell of gas, I changed it anyway. Got going and it kept missing at anything over quarter throttle, sometimes it would go. Same thing old carb did it was lean. I dug and found jets and put a larger one in. Now it still stumbles some at lower rpm but once rpm hit 3500 or better it takes off good. The top end is certainly improved I went down the road and it likes to rev more than before no doubt about that. But low end is not good it has a weak spot there. Sometimes it takes off ok so not far off but can feel its weak then it comes on strong, other times it misses a little. This carb has two jets thinking the other one needs changed too or I could hog it out a little and see. I wound it out down a field here and it really got going faster than before on that run. I'd bet it goes faster than the 42 it did before but didn't feel like finding out today.

Re: Vc 460
Hmm Sho, I am lifting at 45.5 mph @ 5600 rpms with my Shepard modded VC 3 circuit. That is with the windshield up and the trailer tires @ 15 psi for a nice soft ride. I feel pretty sure I didn't lift Vicki would cross the 6k rpm mark easily. I don't want to chance it with cast iron flywheel and slip lock valve retainers. Something to be said for the easy of modded stock carbs. So if we do the math 6200 rpms would be 50.4 mph.

Re: Vc 460
IDK, I did 5200 at 38mph gps last time a tach was on it before the cam and rod. 38.3mph or something. Now it pulls hard on top compared to the CV carb it just wants to go. Best I could get from that CV is 42mph unknown rpm but same tires. But I didn't go for it today maybe hit 40 and let off. Need to read the plug and see, figure out the pilot jet.
