Interesting! Will this beast have a purpose when it's done or is it a "just because".

Plan to haul an upright bass on it. That's the reason for a "golf cart". Atv's and utv's are not permitted in the parks we frequent. Ergo, a "gas golf cart."
Wanted something with a touch of curious.
Want neat, nice welds, interesting appearance. This thing will look seriously lifted on the front, but stock otherwise. The rear...stretched. The 25x11x12 on 8" wide rims will be noticeable.
I see a "pickup" bed maybe.

Here's a pic of the engine. Finally completed the thing.
Project's moving on.
Test fit of front cowl and glove boxes indicate good fit and clearance enough.
Screwed the front wheels up. Wrong offset..if buying wheels pay attention. Forced me to buy a set of 4 2" spacers.
Oh well, life goes on.

I think that is a given on one of these projects. I not only did it on my first one, but also the second one. (first was on being new at it, second time got in hurry and screwed up on my math)

We now have an engine. Runs like a new one. Sitting on the floor for now. Built it using parts from 3 engines and about everything for sale on eBay. My phone camera is screwed so pics have an cloudy or overexposed look to them. I'll try to throw a few up anyway.
Getting on with welding the frame up.
FWIW, EZGO uses tapered tie rod ends with non-metric tie rod threads. Kawasaki has straight tie rod ends with 10mm threads. Found the correct tie rod taper with 10mm threads on a Yamaha Raptor 660. The steering on the EZGO mates up perfectly with the Kaw front end. Remarkable.
Looks like the ground height is gonna be a bit high. That's why I went with SRA instead of IRS.

One day I'll get some pics loaded. Maybe.
That pile of crap sitting on the floor is a KVF700 engine all wired and watered up. A crude test stand. But the engine runs quite nicely. Carbs might be a touch rich. It runs real well without an air filter...shouldn't do that. I swagged a jet kit into it because the brute force style engines were starved for fuel from the factory.
I can easily remove the carbs..and about anything else external to the crankcase without pulling the engine. We completed the frame attachment to the cart. Gotta get the steering and tires on and check for clearance. Then finish a skid plate. A reinforced skid plate.
Coming along.

FWIW, a Kaw Brute Force 750 is a single pin crank like a Harley. They are right torquey. Makes about 60 HP. Has a cute idle. I'm running a stock muffler due to using this thing where only golf carts are allowed.
I'm using BF 650 heads which up the compression from 8.8 into the mid 9s.
That's the reason for the jet kit. V twin Prairie and Brute force engines are like small block Chevy's...parts are interchangeable to a high degree. One better understand the pitfalls of such mixing of parts.
As stated, having tried the "cart" rear axle on a previous toy...I wanted a big, solid rear end in this cart. It's a little too long, and nothing to do about it other than cover it up.
So I'm gonna have a little pulling truck bed in the rear. It'll like a small pickup.

Just a thought here. why not try to find/trade for a MPT800, MPT1200 or ST350 frame and body, i am sure it is pretty much the ten inches longer that you require. and it is basically a factory stretched TXT frame. it would give you a better starting point.

That is one in my avatar

EDIT,
also the rear body is mainly steel at the front and easily modified, plust the front cowl from the ST is dirctly swappable with the TXT cowl so you have a choice of looks too. again my avatar has the ST cowl fitted. i built that one to take a Kawasaki 620 cc V twin.

You're right about the length. Not at all familiar with various models such as yours.
Looks perfect.
I'm too far in to swap now. Chopped up both ATV and cart frame. The center of my rear axle is beneath what was the cart bumper (gone now). I bought some fender flares for a EZGo Terrain 1500 and they'll add about 10 inches to the rear wheel well. Looks a bit like a Marathon rear end...which I'm good with. I'm still only about 30" from the seat back to the rearmost frame member. Plan to do 36" wide X 30" long bed. I think the rear wheels will be less obvious.
I'll post a pic of the rear soon as the swingarm is reinstalled.

Looking forward to seeing the progress. Its a shame i saw this thread this late, I have a fair bit of knowledge of the EZGO carts as i was the first UK specialist trained by EZGO and had many years experience until i moved on with my own business and closed my shop down in the recession.
I built many specials, including stretched, lowered, lifted, and just about any other mod, way before so much stuff was available off the shelf. Most of my stuff was hand made including the lift kits etc. You could say all my mod work was Bespoke LOL.
