Default Rubbing more with wheel spacers

When I ordered wheels for my lift they rubbed on the rear so I ordered spacers. I got 1 inch for the back which is perfect. The front I wanted sort of even so I got 2 1/2 and they rub hard on the body. Anyone use this size and make it work. It looks like if the axle was moved forward a touch it would clear. Otherwise what size spacer have you used that worked on the front. It's an 87 gas marathon.

I have a non lifted 87 Marathon. I installed front knobby tires that rubbed hard during turns. I installed an 88 cowl to fix the problem.

I didnt realize they had a difference to them. I was thinking 86 was the end of the all steel front and then 87 went with the style with the plastic piece on the front? Could be wrong. What was the difference in them that gave you the clearance?

I have been doing some research on the forum here and have found some info on putting longer leafs on the front. I'm looking at ordering a set from a 94.5 plus ezgo. I measured mine and they are 19 inches and the newer ones are 22.5. Has anyone on here successfully swapped out springs like this? Looks like it will even out m front end better and give the clearance I need. Hate to change the new look I got from the spacers.

Looks like you already have the 88 cowl.
