If it has a Hitachi motor, have him replace it with anything else! Both of my G29 carts have new motors after the Hitachi motors failed. Brushes wear quickly and then the commutator gets all chewed up by the time the motor stops working. I went with D&D motors in both of my carts years ago but there are other good ones out there.

That controller will work with any SEPEX DC Motor. You need to match the speed sensor connector and the transaxle splines when ordering a replacement motor.

I recently replaced my Hitachi motor with an Admiral D2 speed motor. Bolts right up.

It will only last until the brush to commutator connection wears off again. Probably very quickly, do to the brushes being stuck in the retainers. I am not aware of any shops that want to repair that motor, but you can do it yourself. I have fixed a few, but buying a replacement is a better option. Site sponsors have them. I don't want to take anything away from any of the great sponsors on this site, but when it comes to Yamaha, Don Plowman and company, are amazing. I recommend giving them a call.
