2017 Yamaha - Lunges Forward/Reverse
Ok I am new to electric carts, so I will start with that.
I am helping a high school friend with their cart. They said last year in August it just stopped charging. Luckily it was in their heated garage. However I measured each battery and they were all below 1 volt. I checked the water in them and that all looks good. I charged each battery to about 4-6 volts each. I then plugged the charger into it an dit says charging and then like a minute or so later it says charged. I jumped on it to drive and I can hear a clicking and the cart will just lunge forward or reverse. Any help to diagnose their issue would be very helpful. They do have a watering system on their batteries. I honestly don't know how old they are, but they are red tops. |

What are all of the battery voltages after charging? Sounds like bad batteries to me also.

3 of them are 6 to 7+ volts. The other 3 are like 1-3. I will say the other three I only charge for like 20 to 30 minutes because that's what I seen on a YouTube video. On the others I did like 40mins.
I did use a 12V charger to charge then individually, cause the charger wasn't working. |

Until you get a set of solid batteries, you should not run the cart. You can damage the controller running with bad batteries.

Ok. So it is for sure the batteries?
Any recommendations where to get batteries? Are the red tops the only ones that everyone recommends? Recommendations for lithium? |
