I guess maybe your saying I can just adjust it via a laptop to cap the max speed to something other than 35 mph?

Why not just buy the FSIP motor referenced above and not have to deal with the added step of messing with the programming? 27 mph is more than fast enough for me.
Yes. The Alltrax Toolkit software has 3 different user settings. Switchable with a laptop.

Download the toolkit and plug the controller into a laptop.

You can also use a center off toggle but you will need the pins for the molex plug.

Appreciate the info thus far.

Does anyone have the D2 motor? Positive or negatives?

I plan to swap at the same time I replace the rear shocks and springs with an HD set.

I'm have read that if upgrading the motor, the upgraded 200amp selanoid that I bought with my 400amp Alltrax controller also needs to be upgraded to a 400 amp selanoid.

Is that necessary when up grading the motor? I guess I thought I was buying an upgraded controller/selanoid that would give me that future flexibility to upgrade the motor should I choose to at a later date?

You will want a heavy duty sound salanoid to go higher current controller and motor. You will also want to beef up the wiring to support it as well. Putting in a motor that draws more current will just heat things up and cause failure if you don't.

So the HD SW180 - 200/800 amp solenoid is not sufficient for a 5.5 hp motor and 400amp controller? That's the selanoid sold with this controller.

I have 2 gauge cables so should be more than covered there.

I am hearing different recommendations from different folks. It doesn't seem so cut and dry.

It might be enough. It all depends on. How many amps the controller is actually Pulling from the battery. Basically that's solenoid it's the weakest link in the chain now. If it Is a 200 amp Solonoid?

Thanks guys! I don't mean to be difficult, I'm still a little new and ignorant to golf cart world esp when it comes to modding them.
