jakes 3 inch lift kit
so is anybody using one of these? My wife has been griping about the 6 inch lift on out cart. I am not really happy with the front end geometry anyway(brand? spindle lift) I have been thinking about replacing it with a slightly smaller lift if I still can keep my 22 11 10 tires/rims. I have a 2 inch extension plate also, but need to hear what you guys are running with this lift kit.
any and all ideas welcome also any ideas on a good source to get this lift at for a good price? thanks, -Aaron |

Re: jakes 3 inch lift kit
Aaron, I'm running 20x11x10 trailwolfs with the 3 inch jakes in the pic. There is some forward placement with this spindle. I don't know exactly how much.
You can see in the pic there is room for a larger tire, I don't know how much larger? Plus you have the forward extension plate? |

Re: jakes 3 inch lift kit
so if you were to jack up your cart on only one side could you put your hand between the tire and whatever else without hitting anything? I ask because a 22 is only an inch or so bigger perside, so i think it should be ok. I have 20.5 inch tires on my other cart with NO lift so i figured a 3 should get me the clearance for the 22's I need
thanks for the help, Aaron |

Re: jakes 3 inch lift kit
I'll get some better pics tonite!
OK, no pics but, I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night....... That cart is gone but another in the garage with same lift and tires has 4 -5 inches clear everywhere on my 20s. However there are no batteries or people in the cart but, it is a pretty safe bet they are gonna work for you...They ride kinda rough (on the stock suspension) and I end up putting only 8 pounds air in the tires to compensate. Besides the tires grip the rock real good like that! Found a pic.....As you can see the Jakes gives you forward as well as verticle clearance! http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/attac...c-img_0340.jpg |

Re: jakes 3 inch lift kit
thanks for all the info man. now I have one more question after a few drinks and lookin at my carts in the garage tonight. Could you possible get me a width measurement someplace on it? say from inside of hubs? I think I remember reading somewhere that they also widen cart a bit? not sure what mine did, but just want to have a comparasion.
I really appreciate all the assistance. -Aaron |
