ok, im trying to ge a list of parts im goin to need, we (us at the fire dept) decided to forget the looks of it and actually make this cart functional. (we figure it would be good in brush fires if the trucks cant get there) figure a 13 HP pump from darley and other stuff (hoses, suctionhoses, nozzeles, tanks, etc) from gall and darley. question is the pumps goin to be an elec start, plus a complete lightin and siren system. would a deep cycle marine battery be able to power all this plus start the cart? i wanna make it so the cart would sit at idle, not start/stop with the gas pedel. also i think i might be investing in one of those permanent on board charger systems. ill make a list usin pics of what i wanna get 4 it

If you keep the engine running and you have a sufficient charging system it wont matter what kind of battery you use.

Re: just an idea.......
I'm thinking that maybe a V-twin is in order...all that extra weight would be tough on a stock motor.
You're really need a lift with big tires! |
