New York state wont let you register them. I went and found out all the laws in NY for doing this. Im very lucky because the town i live the police chief will allow you to drive them on the streets as long as you abide buy the national traffic laws that govern slow moving vehicals. i cant go down lighted streets but i can cross them, i have to have insurance not mutch it cost me $50 for the year (allstate). i had to have a rear view mirror, horn and lights and a drivers license. It makes you feel strange when a trooper gos past and you wonder if hes going to turn around to give you a ticket. what town do you live in?

I tallked to dmv in albany they say I can register it as a restricted use vehicle. As long as it's lest than 70 some inches wide and less than 1000 pounds. They said to get form mv 272.1 for 20 dollars they will have 1 of their people inspect it and then they will give you a vin number for it. I just wanted to use a thing for ice fishing in the winter and hunting season. I was told to put 1 of those fluorescent orange triangle on it like you put on a tractor

In Phoenix, for insurance, I called Chris W.Iten. Formost ins. Co. 623 512 5528. He may know what to do, or where to go in NY.
Good luck, Mike

I talked to a guy at the DMV in Albany for quite a while on this, basically he said that if it did not come with a Title/Registration,or a MSO(cert. of origin),That he saw no way of registering it.He was real cool to talk to,understood what i was talking about, but said he didn't see a way to make it work.He was even looking stuff up while we talked, trying to get me some ways to make it work.If someone fids a way,i'm interested.I wish i had his info,my phone went swimming last week and all is gone!Hey if any of you guys from NY are up for it,we'll have to get together and ride.Mowser, where are you located?

do you have a big place to go rideing at in mind? i think you would get alot of people. ive talked with people from out and around the buffalo area and the syracuse area and all of us from the rochester area. theres alot of people who would like to get together this spring or summer for a big ride. we have two carts and we are willing to travel. we plan on taking our carts to texas with us on vacation to do some riding even.

We've got about 50 acres of woods with trails here,we are sitting on almost 200 acres.I've been trying to find some other places to ride, wish we could get on the 4-wheeler trail-system during the summer.I'll keep searching. We have a big party here every May,Everyone brings quads,carts,etc.. and has a ball.Let me know if you guys come up with anything,or a place to ride.Maybe some of the Trail-sites like Majestic-Trails will let us in,Or maybe Alleghany State Park.
